A little about your technician
Rachel has been working as a technician for over 3 years and has been working with clay focusing on wheel thrown functional pottery for over 8 years. She is also one of the founders of Stable Yard Pottery.
Originating from the Staffordshire Moorlands, close to the Potteries and with family who worked in the pottery industry she is passionate about clay.
Monday Wheel Throwing Drop-ins
Mondays 2.30 to 5.30pm
£40 per person - per 3 hour session
minimum of 3 consecutive sessions to allow work to be processed
Do you wish to hone your throwing skills? These sessions are designed to provide access to pottery wheels and the studio for those who have completed a long form class at Stable Yard Pottery or another studio and allows additional time for you to practice your skills.
The drop-ins are also perfect for people who have established throwing skills but aren’t able to make the most of a full membership. A teacher will not be available however there will be a technician around to answer basic studio questions.
You will have access to:
Shimpo Whisper RK-3E /VL pottery wheels or Shimpo Whisper T direct drive pottery wheels
Four glazes - shiny transparent, shiny white, black and pearl
Reclaim stoneware clay or you can bring your own but it must be able to fire to cone 8
An additional charge of £5 per kilo for your finished pieces to be bisque fired and glazed fired.
Cost effective plans of 3 consecutive sessions to allow you time to take your creations through the making process
You will be required to undertake a studio induction and to sign a studio liability form.
