Rob Goate.
Rob Goate originally studied under David and Margaret Frith at the Brookhouse Pottery where he was inspired by the attention to technical detail, respect for the craft and artistic spontaneity of the Hamada and Leechian traditions..
More recently Rob has been inspired by training from Richard Phethean on his constructed earthenware forms with slip decoration, and Matt Blakely's natural glazes using ash and granites.
Rob currently works out of Stable Yard Pottery where he continues to explore the construction of elegant forms and glaze techniques which incorporate his fine art skills into objects which show the beauty of the craft in three-dimensional space.
